Assailant of minor arrested

SHILLONG: Police on Friday arrested the accused Frederick Kharsyntiew who allegedly assaulted an eleven-year-old girl at Lumdorbar, Upper Lumparing, Shillong for plucking flowers from his garden.

Kharsyntiew was arrested after the relative of the girl filed an FIR with the police against him.

The accused reportedly assaulted the girl by kicking her after he saw that she was plucking flowers from his garden. Narrating the incident, the eleven-year-old girl who is a student of Sacred Heart School informed that the incident took place at around 3:20 PM when she was returning home from school.

The police on Thursday registered a case against the accused under various sections of the IPC.
