Shillong, Oct 5: The fourth edition of the Rolling Rabbit Open Jiu Jitsu Tournament was successfully held at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, on October 4, 2025, marking yet another milestone for one of the region’s fastest-growing martial arts competitions.
First launched on July 20, 2019, the tournament has steadily gained recognition across India’s Jiu Jitsu circuit.
This year’s edition attracted athletes from Kolkata, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam, along with strong participation from Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills, East Garo Hills, and East Khasi Hills. A total of 70 athletes, including 14 women, competed across various weight and skill categories.
Representing the host state, Meghalaya fielded five teams—IDM Fight Club, Rays 3029 Warriors, Khadsaw Phra MMA, Hillside MMA, Team Revolution, and Happy Red Rooster MMA. Together, the home teams made an impressive showing, bagging 30 medals across multiple divisions.
Cash prizes were awarded to medallists in different weight and experience brackets.
Having built a strong reputation for its professional organization and spirited competition, the Rolling Rabbit Open continues to strengthen its standing within India’s Jiu Jitsu community.
Organisers said their goal now is to focus on expanding the tournament further—first by enhancing its quality and then by increasing the frequency of future editions to make Shillong a key destination for combat sports in the Northeast.
