Shillong, Oct 5: True North Training Centre has announced the launch of the 1st All Shillong Inter School Swimming Championship, set to take place at its Lapalang facility on October 24 and 25.
The two-day event aims to promote competitive swimming among school students across the city and provide young talents with a platform to showcase their skills.
According to the organisers, students aged 9 years and above, studying up to Class 12, are eligible to participate in the championship.
The last date for registration has been fixed for October 15. On the other hand, True North officials said they hope the event will encourage greater participation in aquatic sports in Shillong and help identify potential swimmers for future state and national-level competitions.
With the growing interest in swimming among school students in the city, the championship is expected to witness enthusiastic participation and spirited competition.
True North hopes that this inaugural edition will lay the foundation for an annual sporting tradition in Shillong—one that nurtures young swimmers, promotes fitness, and strengthens the culture of aquatic sports in Meghalaya.
