SHILLONG, Oct 12: The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) has announced an agitation on Tuesday in protest against the NEHU administration’s alleged failure to address a series of long-pending issues.
NEHUTA president Lakhon Kma said members will assemble in front of the Vice Chancellor’s office on Tuesday at 2.30 pm for a democratic protest.
According to NEHUTA, the agitation call is against alleged undue interference by Vice Chancellor PS Shukla in the day-to-day affairs of NEHU despite his absence from the headquarters for close to a year.
Other issues include delay in convening the executive council meeting and arbitrary reappointment of the Dean of the School of Social Sciences.
