Gandhi Bunyadi bowlers dominate in school cricket

SHILLONG: Gandhi Bunyadi School’s batsmen had it relatively easy after their bowlers shot Ruprekha Parishad School out for just 72 in an Inter School Cricket Tournament match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Thursday.

Gandhi Bunyadi won the match by six wickets after losing the toss.

Ruprekha batted for all of 15.1 overs, with Bikash Kumar and Md Javed taking 4-18 and 4-21, respectively, in four overs each.

In reply, Gandhi Bunyadi made 73/4 in 12.1 overs. Abodh Kumar top-scored with 16 runs.

In the second match, St Xavier’s defeated Laban Bengalee Boys School by 18 runs.

St Xavier’s won the toss and chose to bat first, making 129/7 in 20 overs.

Joe contributed 42 runs off 35 bals, while Ankit took 2-14 in three overs.

Laban Bengalee were then all out for 111 in 18.2 overs. Asif’s innings of 45 went in vain, while Rana bagged 3-14 in four overs for the victors.
