Phoebe Dale Nongrum becomes first female podium finisher at Rally of Himalayas

Manali, Oct 12: In a historic achievement for Meghalaya and the North East, Phoebe Dale Nongrum, alongside her codriver Venu, clinched a remarkable podium finish at the 5th Edition of the Rally of Himalayas. Competing in the grueling T1 Xtreme Category, the duo secured 2nd Runners-Up, making Phoebe the first female competitor ever to reach the podium in this high-altitude motorsport event.
The top honours in the T1 Xtreme Category went to Araya Rana, who claimed the Winner’s title, followed by Lakhpa from Arunachal Pradesh as the 1st Runners-Up, and Phoebe Dale Nongrum representing Meghalaya as the 2nd Runners-Up. In addition, Team Phoebe and Venu were awarded the prestigious “Best Team” Trophy, recognising their exceptional performance, teamwork, and endurance across the rally’s challenging stages.
The Rally of Himalayas, organised by Himalayan Xtreme Motorsports and sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), is one of India’s toughest motorsport events. The 2025 edition covered rugged terrain across the Indian Himalayas.
