SHILLONG, Oct 15: The State Cabinet has approved the Meghalaya State Education Commission Report 2025.
Members of the Cabinet held detailed discussions on the various recommendations outlined in the report and have directed the Education Department to thoroughly examine the proposals and prepare a set of actionable steps, along with a clear roadmap for their implementation.
Based on the department’s roadmap, the Cabinet will take a final call on the way forward with regard to the implementation of the Commission’s recommendations.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the Meghalaya Building (3rd Amendment) Bye-Laws, 2025, as mandated by the Government of India.
The amendment aims to improve land management, streamline the building permission process, and allow for increased construction space, thereby enhancing the overall value and utility of land.
In addition, the Cabinet also approved the Organisational Structure & Staffing Norms for Technical, Financial and Social Service for the Municipalities of Meghalaya, 2025 and the Meghalaya Municipal (Technical, Financial and Social Service) Rules, 2025 as mandated by the Union government.
