Shillong, Oct 16: Meghalaya’s football and sports scene received a significant boost on Thursday with the inauguration of the newly constructed Synthetic Football Turf at Madan Centre Playground, Kharbuli, Nongkrem. The event was presided over by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, with Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla in attendance.
The turf, whose foundation was laid in 2021, is set to provide young athletes in Nongkrem and surrounding areas a modern platform for training and talent development. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Sangma highlighted the government’s commitment to nurturing Meghalaya’s youth through sports, education, and infrastructure.
