Shillong, Oct 18: The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 plate group match between Meghalaya and Mizoram was abandoned here today on the fourth and final day without a ball being bowled.
Despite extensive work by the dedicated groundstaff at the MCA Ground, the issue of waterlogging in one section of the outfield meant that play was not possible as it was too soft underfoot.
Heavy rain over the days preceding the match is thought to be behind this and the Meghalaya Cricket Association will be making every effort to resolve the issue before the second match, which will be between Meghalaya and Sikkim, slated to begin on 25 October. Meghalaya and Mizoram were both awarded 1 point each.
