Shillong, Oct 19: Jakrem SC registered a terrific 8-1 victory against Mawsawrit SC in Group B of the Meghalaya Women’s State League 2025 in Mawlum Tyrsad on Saturday.
In the same group, Mawlum Tyrsad SC took down Bright Future SSCC 2-0. Over in Shillong, Na Rympei FA had a tough fight versus Attacker’s YC but came through 4-3 in Group A.
Pynibha Rangthaluh (33’, 81’P, 86’) scored a hat-trick for Attacker’s YC in what was a Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association derby but it ultimately proved to be in a losing cause. Tracy Rympei and Pynhun Shulet scored in the 13th and 16th minutes to give Na Rympei a two-goal lead before Pynibha pulled one back. Tracy and Pynhun then added one more each in the 78th and 80th minutes for Na Rympei to storm to 4-1 and the game looked all but wrapped up.
However, a penalty conversion and a stunning long-range strike from Pynibha kept the result in doubt all the way to the final whistle, with Na Rympei breathing a sigh of relief at having come away with a full 3 points.
Attacker’s, on the other hand, can take great pride in producing two really close matches (they last lost 1-0 to Pay For Right FA), though they have still yet to pick up a point in three outings.
In Mawlum Tyrsad, Jakrem (of the Mawkyrwat DSA) defeated Tyrsad Area Sports Association team Mawsawrit by a convincing margin.
Chibasal Sangma (22’), Iaphisha Marbaniang (30’, 47’, 72’, 85’) Bahunlang Synrem (38’), Baiashisha Lyngkhoi (82’) and Cathrine Kharkongor (88’) scored for Jakrem and D Umdor (57’) for Mawsawrit.
Later, L Khongsit (4’, 38’) struck twice in the first half for Group B leaders Mawlum Tyrsad (Tyrsad Area SA) against Bright Future (Pyndengumiong DSA).
This was the last group fixture for both sides. Unbeaten Mawlum Tyrsad have racked up 13 points from five games and have guaranteed themselves first place in the group ahead of the next round.
