SHILLONG, Oct 21: A one-day workshop was on Tuesday organised by Sankardev College to mark World Statistics Day 2025 under the theme ‘Quality Statistics and Data for Everyone’.
Sponsored by the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd., the event brought together experts and students to discuss the applications of statistics in everyday life, professional fields and public policy.
The resource persons for the workshop included District Immunisation Officer Dr Rapbor Laloo, Grassroots president Mayfreen Ryntathiang and Be the Guide director Santosh Sunar.
Altogether, around 200 students from various schools across Shillong participated in the event and gained insights into how quality data can empower individuals and institutions alike.
It may be mentioned that the global observance of the World Statistics Day, celebrated once every five years, highlights the importance of reliable and inclusive data in decision-making and sustainable development.
