Unidentified gunmen abduct 18 construction workers in Pak
Karachi, Oct 24: Unidentified gunmen on Friday abducted 18 workers from a construction company’s site in the Khuzdar district of the restive Balochistan province, security officials said. The armed men also set several vehicles on fire before taking away the 18 labourers at gunpoint. The armed men first overpowered the site guards and then took the workers to an undisclosed location, officials said. In a second such incident in the last five days, labourers mostly belonging to other provinces have been kidnapped at gunpoint. (PTI)

3 cops killed in twin blasts in northwest Pakistan
Peshawar, Oct 24: Three policemen including a senior officer were killed and another injured on Friday in two back-to-back blasts in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials said. The blasts occurred in the Hangue district of the province, according to the police. The initial explosion targeted the Ghulmina police check-post, spreading panic in the area. Upon receiving information about the blast, Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Asad Zubair, accompanied by a heavy contingent of police, proceeded to inspect the site. Their vehicle was struck by a remote-controlled bomb, killing SP Zubair and two other police officers on the spot, while injuring another officer. (PTI)

US strike targets ‘drug-running’ boat; 6 killed
Washington, Oct 24: The US military has conducted its 10th strike on a suspected drug-running boat, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Friday, blaming the Tren de Aragua gang for operating the vessel and leaving six people dead in the Caribbean. In a social media post, Hegseth said the strike occurred overnight, and it marks the second time the Trump administration has tied one of its operations to the gang, which originated in a Venezuelan prison. (AP)
