HC accepts 33rd interim report on coal illegalities

SHILLONG, Oct 27: The High Court of Meghalaya on Monday took on record the 33rd interim report filed by Justice (retired) BP Katakey pertaining to the illegal coal mining in the state.
Justice Katakey submitted his report on October 24.
The two-judge bench of Justices Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew and Wanlura Diengdoh also took on record the status report filed by the state government with regard to the 32nd interim report filed by Justice Katakey.
The court also took note of the absence of Advocate General Amit Kumar on Monday and adjourned the hearing to November 3, 2025, in the interest of justice.
