CM sanctions ₹13.35 crore for project in Mawkynrew

SHILLONG, Oct 30: A sanction of ₹13.35 crore for the construction of the Jongksha-Thynroit Bridge was announced by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, who also confirmed that the sanction will also be accorded for the construction of an artificial turf adjacent to the Indoor Stadium in Mawkynrew constituency.
The Chief Minister made the announcement during a CM Connect programme held at Thangsning under Mawkynrew Block, where he engaged directly with residents to hear their concerns and suggestions.
During the interaction, members of the community highlighted several key needs of the area, including the establishment of Higher Secondary Schools and a Community College, challenges in implementing MNREGA, the requirement for more Anganwadi Centres, a Veterinary Hospital, an expanded Water Supply Scheme, construction of roads and bridges, an artificial turf ground, and improvement in power supply, among others.
Sangma assured that the government remains committed to addressing the developmental priorities raised by the people and to ensuring inclusive growth across all parts of the state.
