USTM Chancellor bracketed among India’s top 25 inspiring education leaders

Guwahati, Oct 31: “The Academic Insights” magazine, a prominent Indian monthly publication has selected Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), as India’s 25 most inspiring
education leaders.
This accolade celebrates the transformative changes Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque has brought about in the vast landscape of education in Northeast India while empowering youth across the region and across India, according to a Press release.
Chancellor Hoque says, “I deeply appreciate The Academic Insight’s honourable certificate. I am a great admirer of this monthly powerhouse. My motto to keep going forward positively in a very competitive world and is to keep trying, don’t look back, if you pick up ten things, and only four work, move forward with it, and things will materialise.”

Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque has established fourteen institutions under the expansive umbrella of Education Research and Development Foundation (ERDF) over twenty-three years, with a tiny start of only four students, and expanded his educational enterprise from KG to UG to PG to PhD, with over 10,000 students, with more on the rise.

This recognition of Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque goes beyond an individual honour – it is a
celebration of Northeast India’s rising stature on the national education map, and a testament to the power of perseverance, purpose, and people-first leadership.

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) hailed as the first state private university dedicated to science and technology in Northeast India, earning an “A Grade” accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its first assessment cycle in 2021, with credentials as the best private university in Northeast India, it continues to take a top spot on the national stage among the 200 leading universities in India, being the only private university in North East India to feature in the prestigious NIRF Rankings for four consecutive years, including 2025.

The Academic Insights, launched over a decade ago, has evolved into a national oracle for
aspiring minds, guiding over 450,000 readers each month through the ever-shifting sands of K-12 and higher education.
