SHILLONG, Nov 1: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday underscored the importance of preserving and promoting Meghalaya’s cultural roots, calling on the youths to take pride in their traditions and ensure that the state’s heritage continues to thrive through generations.
“Our roots define us and we must always promote it and ensure our future generations also uphold and carry forward the sanctity of our heritage,” Sangma said, stressing that cultural identity remains central to the state’s strength and unity.
He noted that Meghalaya’s diversity of tribes is a defining feature that must be celebrated and safeguarded. “Meghalaya is known for its diversity of tribes and we should be proud of our rich traditions, culture and identity,” the chief minister said.
