SHILLONG: It was a bad day in the office for Shillong Secondary School as they lost by 141 runs to a rampant St Edmund’s in their Inter School Cricket Tournament match, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Thursday.

In the earlier game, St Anthony’s beat Ruprekha School by 73 runs.

After being put in to bat first, the Edmundians amassed a total of 200/6 in 25 overs, going at eight runs an over.

Sumit Tewari scored 57 off 43 balls, while Neeraj Dey came away with the best figures, bagging 2-29 in five overs.

In reply, Shillong Secondary were all out for just 59 in 14.3 overs. Musafir Rehman took 5-21 in five overs, while Hitesh Kumar Kushwaha claimed 4-3 in two overs.

Meanwhile, St Anthony’s won the toss and batted first, putting up a total of 163/6 in 25 overs. George Kharmalki top-scored with 37, while Akash followed close behind with 31 runs. Ajay Kumar Roy took 2-35 in four expensive overs.

Ruprekha School were then dismissed for 90 in 22.2 overs.

George returned with the ball to take 3-10 in five overs, while Dipak bagged 4-7 in 3.2 overs. Balajit was the top-scorer for Ruprekha with 24 runs.
