Arrests
On April 26, Police arrested one Ganestar Shangrit of Nongrah Nongpdeng, Shillong from Police Bazar, Shillong in connection with a cheating case under Rynjah PS.
On April 26 around 7:50 am, one Rajesh Khongsit assaulted Romario Kurkalang near Mattilang Park, Upper Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital Shillong. Police arrested the accused and matter is under investigation.
Counter FIR
Regarding the incident at Sohiong, on April 15, Agnes Kharshiing, president, CSWO in a press release alleged on the incident at Kynroh Nonglyer that women of Kynroh Nonglyer village under Sohiong Syiemship (East Khasi Hills) were barred from attending the Village Durbar on April 10, 2014.
And that the PDS dealer of the area was instructed by the Dorbar not to distribute any more PDS to the womenfolk. In this connection, Kwit Kharshiing, Sordar and Fivestar Nonglait, Secretary of Kynroh Nonglyer Dorbar Shnong (East Khasi Hills) lodged a complaint at Laban PS that, Agnes Kharshiing, President, CSWO(A), Artilla Nongrum, Paulina Kharthangmaw and Fatima had baselessly defamed them.
Body found
On April 25, one unidentified male person was found lying with head injury at Forest Colony, Shillong. He was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong where he succumbed to his injuries. Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under enquiry.
Theft cases
lRihaka Challam lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 24 night, unknown miscreants broke into her shop at Iongpian Tri-Junction (West Jaintia Hills) and stole Recharge Cards and grocery items valued around Rs. 35,000.
lOn April 24 around 12.30 am, Bakiat Hussain, Saju Miah and two others looted Rs. 67,000 from Nirmal Miah, driver of truck (ML-08B-0405) at Tangaon (West Garo Hills).
lSaniram Rabha, Headmaster, Tikrikilla Govt. UP School (WGH) lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on April 21 night, unknown miscreants broke into the school and stole three sets of computers valued at Rs. 1,50,000.
lDeimon Phawa lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on April 21 night, unknown miscreants stole nineteen batteries valued around Rs. 70,000 from a tower at Mookynniang Khliehtyrshi village (West Jaintia Hills).
Accident cases
lOn April 21 at around 10 am, one vehicle (ML-05F-8539) driven by Deningstar Nongbri met with an accident at Mawshut (West Khasi Hills). As a result, one minor girl Dahun Wahlang (4 yrs) sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong from where she was referred to NEIGRIHMS for better treatment.
lOn April 18 around 5 am, one Maruti car (ML-05C-8686) driven by Expert M Sangma (31) skidded off the road and fell into a pit at Potamati (West Garo Hills). As a result, driver died on the spot.
