Ryan Reynolds to feature in Thunderbolt & Lightfoot remake
Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds is in negotiations to feature in the upcoming remake of 1974’s film Thunderbolt & Lightfoot. According to the entertainment news outlet Deadline, the 49-year-old actor will also produce the film under his production banner Maximum Effort banner. Shane Reid is directing the film, which marks his feature directorial debut. Reynolds is working on the script with writers Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson. Directed by Michael Cimino, the original film featured Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges in the lead roles. It revolved around a bank robber (Eastwood) and his irreverent sidekick (Bridges) who reassemble their old posse for a daring new heist. The film emerged as a major commercial and critical success after its release. (PTI)
Abhishek Bachchan mourns demise of makeup artist
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan mourned the death of his makeup artist Ashok Sawant in a heartfelt note on Instagram on Monday. Abhishek shared two pictures with Ashok, one from the set of his latest film Kaalidhar Laapata and an older one of them on the set of the 2012 film Bol Bachchan. “Ashok dada and I have worked together for over 27 years. He has been doing my make-up since my very first film. He wasn’t just a part of my team, he was part of my family,” the actor penned. “Last night we lost him. He was the first person whose feet I would touch and take his blessings whenever I gave my first shot of a new film. From now on I will have to look up to the heavens and know that you’ll be looking down and blessing me,” he wrote. (PTI)
Predator: Badlands tops box office with $80 million worldwide
Predator: Badlands led all films in North American theaters with a debut of $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday, a better-than-expected result that slightly lifted the box office from its autumn doldrums. On the heels of the worst box office weekend of 2025, Predator: Badlands faced little competition from new titles. Not accounting for inflation, the $40 million opening marked a new high for the dreadlocked alien franchise, besting the $38.3 million launch of 2004’s Alien vs. Predator. Badlands, the eighth movie in the franchise that began with 1987’s Predator,” offers a novel twist for the sci-fi series.
