SHILLONG, Nov 10: The FKJGP Upper Shillong Circle on Monday sent back several labourers en route to Shella for work, citing incomplete documents.
Kiboklang Nongphlang, the circle’s president, said the group was stopped outside the organisation’s office at 7th Mile, Upper Shillong.
He warned contractors against bringing in labourers from outside the state without valid documentation, referencing the Assam government’s recent drive to evict suspected illegal immigrants.
