May Day
The office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) Shillong and the office of the Labour Commissioner, Shillong will commemorate the May Day at Auditorium Hall, Byrnihat Proper on May 1 from 11:00 AM onwards.

District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills Sanjay Goyal has prohibited any mining activity at Maw-U Sam village without obtaining license from the competent authorities. Sanjay Goyal said that such activities if allowed without prior permission from the authorities would degrade the environment.
