US Consulate extends help to Nagaland Excise Dept

Kohima: The Consulate General of US in India has expressed its willingness to extend assistance to Nagaland Excise Department in combating drug trafficking and abuse in the state.

The US representatives, the Consul for Political and Economic affairs, Gaurav Bansal and Global Affairs from Consulate General of US have disclosed after a meeting with official of Nagaland Excise Department at circuit house, Dimapur on Sunday.

According to excise department source, the US Consulate General was also interested in imparting trainings to the enforcement personals and officers.

The meeting was based on the proposal sent last year to US Consulate General seeking help in line with the assistance extended to other states like Mizoram. (UNI)
