Nikki Haley’s son urges limits on foreign students

NEW DELHI, Nov 20: Nalin Haley, son of Indian-American Republican leader Nikki Haley, has called on the Trump administration to cap the number of foreign students in the US, alleging that some may act as “spies.” He also reiterated his position that foreign-born citizens should be barred from holding public office, according to India Today. Earlier, Nalin had advocated ending H-1B visas and halting legal immigration, arguing such measures were necessary to protect American workers amid economic challenges. His stance on restricting mass immigration has drawn criticism, particularly given his family history. Nalin’s grandfather, Ajit Singh Randhawa, migrated from Punjab, India, in 1969 and went on to establish a distinguished academic career in the US, which critics highlight as ironic considering Nalin’s opposition to immigration.
