Class 2 girl ‘molested’ on school campus
MEHSANA (Gujarat), Nov 22: A probe has been launched after a Class 2 girl was allegedly molested twice and given an `injection’ by a man on a school campus in Vijapur on Saturday.The girl told her parents that a man took her to the garden behind her school and touched her inappropriately on November 19. The same man again molested her on November 20 and gave her an injection on the right hand, she said.He also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incidents to anyone, the girls told her parents.The girl was subsequently admitted to hospital after she complained of stomach pain. Her father lodged a police complaint.Police are checking CCTV footage and waiting for the medical reports to ascertain the contents of the injection. (PTI)
3 women dead, 10 others injured as MUV overturns after tyre burst
MUMBAI, Nov 22: Three women were killed and 10 other passengers injured after the four-wheeler they were travelling in suffered a tyre burst and overturned in Dharashiv district of Maharashtra on Saturday, police said.The accident occurred around 11.30 am.A multi-utility vehicle carrying the passengers was going from Solapur district to Naldurg to visit a temple. However, due to the tyre burst, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it hit the road divider before overturning.Three women died and 10 other passengers were injured. They were sent to Solapur for medical treatment. No case has been registered so far, police said. (PTI)
Two arrested for trafficking youths to Myanmar call centres
NEW DELHI, Nov 22: The Delhi Police has arrested two men who were allegedly recruiting and trafficking Indian youngsters to Myanmar, where they were forced into cyber-fraud operations under conditions described as “cyber-slavery”, officials said on Saturday.The police arrested Danish Raja, 24, a resident of Delhi’s Bawana, and Harsh, 30, of Faridabad on Friday, he said.The case surfaced after Myanmar’s military authorities raided a scam compound in Myawaddy on October 22 and rescued several Indians who had been confined inside a large-scale cyber-fraud complex.Nearly 300 Indians from various states have since been repatriated. These individuals were reportedly working under coercion and targeting US nationals in multiple scam centres across Myanmar, they said. Armed guards allegedly oversaw the operations to prevent escape. (PTI)
