SHILLONG, Nov 23: State Bank of India (SBI) strengthened its community outreach in Meghalaya on Sunday with the handover of a Mahindra Bolero to Hid Foundation, Shillong, and a Star Bus to NEHU’s Tura Campus under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The ceremony, held at the SBI Shillong Main Branch on November 23, was attended by senior officials including Ravi Ranjan, Deputy Managing Director (Global Markets), Nand Kishore, MD & CEO of SBI Funds, and Prabhas Bose, Chief General Manager of the Guwahati Circle.
The CSR support is aimed at addressing two critical needs in the state—mobility for community-focused initiatives and improved transportation for students in the Garo Hills region. While the Bolero will aid Hid Foundation in expanding its outreach programmes, the Star Bus is expected to enhance student mobility and academic accessibility at NEHU-Tura.
SBI officials noted that such interventions reflect the bank’s long-term commitment to public welfare and institutional support.
“Empowering local communities through meaningful partnerships—SBI’s CSR reflects our commitment to nation-building,” the bank stated.
