NEW DELHI, Nov 25: Gold prices in Delhi surged by Rs 3,500 to Rs 1,28,900 per 10 grams on Tuesday, breaking a three-day losing streak, driven by strong buying from local jewellers and retailers for the wedding season, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
Gold of 99.5% purity rose to Rs 1,28,300 per 10 grams, inclusive of all taxes.
Silver also saw robust gains, climbing Rs 5,800 to Rs 1,60,800 per kilogram amid heightened demand.
Analysts attributed the rally to a softer US dollar, expectations of a December rate cut, and dovish comments from Federal Reserve officials, which boosted safe-haven appeal.
In international markets, spot gold was slightly lower at USD 4,131.09 per ounce, while silver fell marginally to USD 51.15 per ounce. (PTI)
