SHILLONG: Even as the pressure groups have opted for a modified ILP, the KHNAM has decided to stick to its demand for implementation of the ILP in its conventional form.
“We want the State Government to implement ILP first and it can be modified later,” KHNAM working president Adelbert Nongrum told newsmen in Shillong on Friday, adding that since there was already an Act related to the implementation of ILP, there was no need for the Government to get a nod from the Centre to implement it in the State.
Nongrum said that implementation of the modified ILP would, however, require the Centre’s permission.
