SHILLONG: Police on Friday arrested one person for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl, keeping her confined at a city hotel and also raping her.
Police said that the accused Balajied Lamare had allegedly kidnapped a teenage girl from Saiden, Nongpoh, on April 28 and forcibly kept her at a city hotel where he raped her. However, on April 30, the accused released her after which the girl managed to reach her home.
Lamare was arrested following an FIR lodged by one Brington Mawphniang at Nongpoh Police Station.
