Michael Davies Rani has been awarded PhD by the North-Eastern Hill University for his thesis ‘Teachers’ Cognition and English Teaching Practices of Secondary School Teachers in Meghalaya’, which he completed under the supervision of Prof SM Sungoh. He is the son of Pyrkhatlem Mylliemngap and Centenary Bahun Rani of Madan Laban, Shillong.
