Cemetery vandalised in city

SHILLONG, Dec 7: In a shocking incident, miscreants allegedly vandalised the cemetery of the Pynthorumkhrah Catholic Church Parish at Belfonte, Lumshyiap, on Saturday night, leaving several crosses damaged.
Police said that after receiving information, a team from Pasteur Beat House visited the cemetery for inquiry only to discover multiple crosses uprooted or broken.
According to police, the Rangbah Shnong informed them that the act of vandalism had occurred the previous night.
Police said they will revisit the site on Monday to carry out a detailed investigation and gather more evidence.
Meanwhile, patrolling in the area has been intensified to prevent further incidents and reassure the community, police added.
