SHILLONG: BK Bajoria and St Nanak School set up a meeting in the final of the Under-16 Inter School Cricket Tournament by winning their respective semifinals at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.
BK Bajoria beat St Anthony’s by two wickets after being put in to field first.
St Anthony’s, however, were dismissed for 117 in 23.4 overs with Medhi Mahi scoring 38 runs, while Kiran Biswas bagged 4-18 and Siddhart took 3-18.
In reply, BK Bajoria reached the target in 24.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets.
Mukesh Kumar top-scored, with his 41 runs coming off just 31 balls. Kiran also contributed 32 runs to the cause.
In the second semi, St Nanak defeated St Xavier’s by seven wickets.
St Xavier’s won the toss and chose to bat first, but were completely devastated by the bowling of Bikash (3-8) and Bikram (3-6), which left them all out for a measly 56 in 13.3 overs.
Joey put up some resistance with an innings of 19 runs.
In reply, St Nanak polished off the required runs in 10.5 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Rakesh hammered 19 from 10 deliveries.
The line-up for the U-16 and U-19 tournaments have thus been decided, with the latter’s semifinals played last week.
