Armed miscreants rob Rs 27 lakh in Tura

SHILLONG: Armed motor cycle borne miscreants looted over Rs 27 lakh in broad daylight from employees of Police Refueling Centre, Tura on Monday while they were on their way to deposit the cash in Axis Bank at Hawakhana area of the town.
The five miscreants waylaid the auto-rickshaw that the employees Rajith A Sangma and Sunil Ram were travelling in near AOC petrol pump in Hawakhana and robbed the entire amount of Rs 27,16,760 which was meant for M/s Marak Auto Agency Monabari and M/s Raksam Refueling Centre, Barengapara.
West Garo Hills SP MK Singh said that police have got some leads into the incident and are hopeful of nabbing the culprits soon.
