SHILLONG: Not even a single student from as many as three districts of Garo Hills- South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills appeared for the commerce stream HSSLC examination.
South West Garo Hills District also did not see even a single student appearing for Science Stream examination.
When contacted, South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Chinmany Gotmare said that there is no school in the district which teaches Commerce stream and only one JNV has Science stream.
Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills said that there is one Government school in the district, 27 adhoc secondary and higher Secondary school and more than 50 private secondary and higher Secondary schools and some of them do have Science streams.
