New Delhi: With the WikiLeaks making a sensational exposure of names of some prominent Indians who have stashed away black money in Swiss banks, the recently-appointed Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Parliamentary Affairs, Paban Singh Ghatowar on Wednesday denied having any account in Swiss banks and vowed to quit politics if anybody can prove the same.

Threatening to drag the newspapers, which reported that he had accounts in banks in Switzerland, to Court, Ghatowar said, “this is a political conspiracy to tarnish my image.”

“I wish to clarify that I do not have any money in Swiss banks. If there is even Rs 300 in foreign bank in my name then I would not only quit political life but also social life,” a visibly upset Ghatowar told newsmen here.

The Union Minister said he had already taken up the matter with Congress leadership as well as the Union Law Ministry.

The Minister was at loss as to how his name figured in the now famous Wikileak List. The list containing several big names including top Central political leaders of UPA, corporate heads and prominent socialites has been in circulation for the last few days.

A few newspapers published from Assam and Meghalaya have reported the matter.
