Phatak shines at MTA-AITA c’ship

Shillong, Dec 18: The MTA-AITA Championship Series (CS7) for U16 boys and girls concluded successfully on Thursday, showcasing an exciting display of young tennis talent at The Shillong Club Tennis Courts.
In the Boys U16 category, Chandogya Phatak of Assam emerged as the singles champion, defeating Rosangkima Hlondo of Mizoram in a hard-fought final. In doubles, Phatak paired with Enrich Patar, also from Assam, to claim the title, overcoming the team of Arnav Bhuyan and Ayyan Rehman, representing Assam as well.
The tournament’s closing ceremony and prize distribution were held on Thursday, with Meghalaya Tennis Association President Andrew Simons and General Secretary Vicky Vadera expressing their heartfelt appreciation to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) for their generous support and cooperation, which played a pivotal role in making the event both successful and memorable.
