India A beat India Seniors in Physical Disability Series

MUMBAI, Dec 18: GS Shiva Shankara scored 67 off 43 balls but his effort went in vain as India A got the better of India Seniors in the third and final match of the Physical Disability T20 series, here on Thursday.India A, who had lost both the matches of the series here at the Wankhede Stadium, posted 164 for eight in the third match and restricted the India Seniors side for 136 in 19.3 overs.Nonsola Adil claimed 3/40 while G Prashant and Mohammed Sadiq claimed two wicket apiece for the winning side.GS Shiva Shankara struck four boundaries and five sixes to revive India Seniors, who had slipped to 38 for five at one stage, but his effort was not enough in averting a defeat.The Player of the Match in each of the three T20Is got Rs 11,000 as prize money while the Player of the Series, India Seniors’ Wasim Iqbal, was given a prize money of Rs 21,000 by the MCA. On organising the series at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, the MCA secretary Dr Unmesh Khanvilkar said, “It reflects our collective belief in inclusivity, equality, dignity, and opportunity for every sportsperson, irrespective of physical or intellectual ability. Sport has always been a powerful platform for empowerment.”

JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury gets under way in Arunachal

DAMBUK, Dec 18: The three-day JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury has brought together India’s leading off-road racers and international competitors for one of the country’s most demanding motorsport challenges.The latest edition features top Indian teams alongside overseas entrants from Thailand, Malaysia and Romania, competing across the Pro Mod Xtreme and Stock categories.Over the next three days, teams will negotiate a series of technically demanding stages designed to test precision steering, teamwork, nerve and endurance.Stage 1 runs through Kherem, Alubari, Bhekuliang and Haju Bridge before returning to Alubari.Stage 2 links Alubari to Haju Bridge and Balijan, followed by Stage 3 in the rugged Bomjir sector.Stage 4 will pass through Sisiri to Siluk and Dambuk.The event showcases world-class 4×4 machines equipped with advanced suspension systems, performance tuning, reinforced off-road tyres, skid plates, winches and low-range gear sets, underlining cutting-edge engineering, endurance and driving skill in extreme terrain.While the Pro Mod Xtreme category puts purpose-built, heavily modified vehicles to the test, the Stock category focuses on production-based 4x4s featuring limited but smart upgrades. Shooting League of India: New franchise on board

NEW DELHI, Dec 18: UP Prometheans was on Thursday announced as the latest addition to the franchise-based Shooting League of India (SLI), whose inaugural edition will be held from February 16-26 next year.The team is owned by Prometheus, a school located in Noida.“Uttar Pradesh has immense sporting potential, and the entry of a franchise driven by a strong educational and developmental philosophy adds great value to the league,” said National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) President Kalikesh Singh Deo.SLI will feature top Indian and international shooters competing in a mixed-team format across pistol, rifle and shotgun disciplines.The competition will feature team events in multiple categories — pistol (10m, 25m), rifle (10m, 50m 3P), and shotgun (trap and skeet). The teams will be divided into two pools for the league stage, followed by knockout rounds.Players will be drafted across four tiers — Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior & Youth — ensuring a mix of international stars, Indian shooters, and emerging talent.
