Brisbane, Dec 27: Australia’s T20 World Cup preparations have suffered a setback after power-hitter Tim David sustained another hamstring injury, raising doubts over his availability for both the Big Bash League and the global showpiece early next year.
David pulled up while running between the wickets during the Hobart Hurricanes’ four-wicket win over the Perth Scorchers at Perth Stadium on Friday night. The 29-year-old was visibly frustrated and retired hurt on 42 off 28 balls following advice from medical staff.
It is the second hamstring issue of the year for David, who previously suffered a significant strain during the IPL that sidelined him for two months and forced him to miss Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s run through the playoffs. (Agencies)
