Govt to announce Lt Gen Suhag as Army chief

NEW DELHI: Brushing aside BJP’s charges of impropriety, the UPA government is all set to take the decision that Lt-General Dalbir Singh Suhag will succeed General Bikram Singh as the next Army chief when he retires on July 31.

Within hours of getting the EC’s green signal on Monday, the defence ministry swiftly recommended to the Appointments Committee of Cabinet that Lt-Gen Suhag’s name. (Agencies)
