Op resumes in J&K to track down terrorists

JAMMU, Jan 8: Security forces resumed a search operation on Thursday morning to track down terrorists hiding in a forest in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. A security personnel suffered a minor bullet injury on Wednesday after a gunfight broke out between the forces and the terrorists, officials said. The forces have busted a well-constructed terrorist hideout during the joint operation, they added. The action by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces was launched at Kahog village in Billawar on Wednesday evening, leading to an encounter, the officials said. “The search operation to track down the hiding terrorists has been resumed after a nightlong cordon,” a senior security official said. The searches are being conducted in the Dhanu Parole-Kamadh nallah area. Additional forces have been called in, along with aerial surveillance, to pin down the terrorists hiding in the dense forest, the officials said. (PTI)

Influencer fined Rs 50K for filming reels inside bus

PUNE, Jan 8: Pune’s civic-run bus corporation has fined social media influencer Atharv Sudame Rs 50,000 for filming reels inside one of its buses without permission. Sudame made reels inside a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited bus, which featured uniform, electronic ticketing machines and the civic undertaking’s badge without authorisation, an official said on Thursday. The notice with the Rs 50,000 fine was slapped on Sudame after he failed to respond to the first one, sent on January 2, seeking his clarification within a one-week period, he added. “The fine of Rs 50,000 was calculated at a rate of Rs 25,000 each for the two offending videos. If Sudame fails to deposit the fine, an offence will be registered against him under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act,” the official informed. (PTI)
