Her presence in midfield has been central to Bayern’s dominance in Germany, combining vision, creativity, and goal-scoring ability to help the team consistently challenge at the top of the league.Announcing her decision on Instagram on Saturday, Stanway said: “The decision to leave Munich and my team was incredibly difficult. I want to say goodbye to the club and the fans at the end of the season with as many titles as possible.” The post reflected both her deep affection for Bayern and her determination to finish her tenure on a high, continuing to contribute fully on the pitch until the final whistle of the season.Stanway’s influence extends beyond club football. A stalwart for the England women’s team, she has played a vital role in the Lionesses’ recent continental success, helping her nation lift back-to-back European Championships in 2022 and 2025. In both tournaments, she found the net twice, underscoring her knack for delivering on the big stage. Her international exploits include a memorable hat trick against China in a friendly last November, taking her tally to 29 goals in 83 appearances for England. Before moving to Germany, Stanway enjoyed a decorated spell with Manchester City, winning the Women’s Super League and three FA Cups.
