Assam hold J&K in sub-jr hockey

Vadodara: Assam scored twice in the last three minutes to play out a 2-2 draw against Jammu & Kashmir in a Pool A match on day five of the 4th Sub-Junior National Men Hockey Championship 2014 (Division B) on Wednesday.
Jammu & Kashmir took the lead with the help of Ramandeep Singh’s field goal in the 18th minute. It was Ramandeep again in the 53rd minute who gave J&K a 2-0 lead.
Assam came back into the game when they were rewarded with two penalty corners at the fag end of the match and captain Minaj Ali and Prashant Kabeer Singh made no mistake in converting them in the 67th and 69th minutes.
In other matches in Pool A, Himachal Pradesh defeated Rajasthan 6-2 and Bihar beat Vidarbha Hockey Association 4-1. (PTI)
