SHILLONG, Jan 16: The state government will table the Expert Committee report on the Meghalaya State Job Reservation Policy, 1972, during the upcoming Budget session, tentatively scheduled from February 16 to 27.
Announcing the decision on Friday, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said the government has proposed convening the session from mid-February, pending Governor’s approval.
Sangma declined to discuss the report’s contents, stating it would be inappropriate before tabling in the Assembly.
The move follows sustained demands from Opposition parties, coalition partners, pressure groups, and organisations for the immediate public release of the report, submitted over six months ago amid growing criticism over the delay.
