LUCKNOW, Jan 24: On Uttar Pradesh Day, top leaders highlighted the state’s development trajectory, cultural heritage, and economic transformation.
President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings, praising UP as a land of glorious history and rich culture that has remained a strong pillar in India’s development.
She expressed confidence that the state would continue advancing on the path of progress and contribute to the nation’s growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, representing Varanasi in the Lok Sabha, reflected on his personal bond with the state and lauded its journey from a ‘BIMARU’ state to one of India’s key growth engines.
He emphasized that UP has become an outstanding example where development goes hand in hand with heritage, citing infrastructural growth, expressways, airports, defence corridors, and tourism potential.
Modi also highlighted the state’s spiritual significance, including Ayodhya, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Sarnath, and celebrated milestones like the Ram temple consecration, Kashi Vishwanath Dham redevelopment, Mahakumbh, and Magh Mela as symbols of cultural strength.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah credited the BJP government, alongside CM Yogi Adityanath, for transforming UP into a “breakthrough state” with improved governance and law and order, which helped attract investments worth Rs 45 lakh crore, including projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore already underway.
He urged citizens to rise above caste considerations and reject dynastic parties in the 2027 Assembly elections, linking the BJP’s return to continued development and national security.
CM Yogi Adityanath announced youth-centric initiatives, including the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone, which will develop around 100 acres per district to align skills with job and entrepreneurial opportunities.
He also launched the ‘One District, One Cuisine’ scheme to complement the existing ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, promoting local delicacies in national and international markets.
District magistrates and citizens were honoured with the UP Gaurav Samman for their contributions to the state’s progress.
The celebrations underscored Uttar Pradesh’s growing role as an economic, cultural, and developmental engine for India. (PTI)
