SHILLONG, Jan 25: Meghalaya’s LPG shortages may soon end with the completion of a new bottling plant in the Ri-Bhoi district.
Sources indicate that the facility, located near the ICAR complex, is 80 per cent complete. Construction is expected to finish by March, with commissioning and safety testing scheduled for July. The plant is slated to become fully operational by August.
Once commissioned, the facility will have an annual capacity of 30,000 MT. Currently, the state relies on bottling plants in Assam to meet its LPG requirements.
