Nongpoh, Jan 30: The Ri-Bhoi district police arrested three persons, including a juvenile, in an alleged case of incest.
The village Dorbar had lodged a police complaint on January 27 alleging that three siblings – aged 23, 19 and 16 years – had sexually assaulted their own minor sisters – aged 13, 10, and 9 years – repeatedly.
According to the complaint, the mother of the six was aware of the acts but she kept them a secret. Eventually, the matter came to the knowledge of village authorities.
Terming the allegations as extremely grave and sensitive, the village Dorbar had urged the police to register an FIR and take immediate actions against the accused.
Immediately after receiving the complaint, the police launched a search operation and arrested the three accused brothers.
