The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer out

Hollywood stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are set to return to the world of fashion after 20 years with the upcoming sequel of the acclaimed film The Devil Wears Prada from 20th Century Studios. Directed by David Frankel, the 2006 film revolved around Hathaway’s Andy, a young graduate, who starts working as an assistant to one of the city’s biggest magazine editors, Miranda Priestly. The sequel is also directed by Frankel. The makers shared the trailer of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Monday. The trailer starts with Andy, who returns to work with Priestly’s Runway magazine as a Features Editor. As the trailer proceeds, it shows Priestly facing off against Blunt’s character, who used to be her former assistant but turned into a high-powered executive for a luxury group. The twist in the story is that Priestly fails to recognise Hathaway and dismisses her as “one of the Emilies”. (IANS)

Meryl Streep confirmed to play Joni Mitchell in biopic

Hollywood actress Meryl Streep is set to portray Joni Mitchell in a new biopic. Music mogul Clive Davis recently made the revelation. The Oscar-winner has long been rumoured to be in contention to take the lead role in a film about the music legend, which is being made by music writer-turned-director Cameron Crowe, and now Davis appears to have confirmed the casting news, reports ‘Female First UK’. As per Rolling Stone, Davis made the revelation during his annual pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles. The music industry veteran took to the stage to welcome his celebrity guests and when it came to greet Mitchell, he declared she would be portrayed by Meryl Streep in Crowe’s biopic. The actress has been linked to the role since 2024 but an official announcement has yet to be made. Anya Taylor-Joy has also been linked to the project with reports suggesting she may play a younger version of the singer onscreen. (IANS)

Salman Khan joins Jackie Shroff’s birthday celebrations

Superstar Salman Khan is indeed a bleeding heart. The actor joined his close friends for a gathering on a short notice. On Monday, veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai took to his Instagram, and shared a picture with Salman and actor Jackie Shroff. In the picture Salman can be seen sporting a moustache presumably for his upcoming film ‘Galwan’. The director also penned a long note in the caption, as he spoke highly of Salman’s kind gesture. He wrote, “Indeed salman khan is one of the most gracious stars who respects his seniors in his mind heart n gesture too. On just receipt of my SMS asking him to join a close friends eve on birthday of dear jackie shroff he surprised us with his gracious visit at my home n brightened the eve. Thank u. Stay blessed always Salman (sic)”. (IANS)
