SHILLONG, Feb 3: The East Khasi Hills Police has issued a clarification to its earlier press release regarding the diversion of Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) in view of ongoing construction work on the Shillong-Dawki Road near Mahadev Khola Dham, 101 Area, Upper Shillong.
The traffic diversion will remain in force with effect from February 3 to February 18, 2026. The clarification pertains specifically to the routing of HMVs coming from the Nongstoin and Mawngap side.
According to the revised directive, all Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) coming from Nongstoin/Mawngap will be diverted at Mawmaram Junction towards the Diengiei (Mawmih)–Lad Umsaw route. This replaces the earlier reference which mentioned diversion towards the Lawmei–Diengiei Umsaw road.
