Beautician training programme benefits young women

Shillong, Feb 7: The seven-day training programme on ‘Beauty, Wellness and Hair Styling’ for young women from Jaintia Hills organised by the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community College (DDUCC) and Skill Development Centre, Wahiajer, a constituent college of NEHU concluded recently.
The programme witnessed active participation from 55 young women, who showed keen interest in learning skills related to facial beauty care and hair styling. The training was conducted through hands-on practical demonstrations and interactive sessions by the resource person, Artysong Lamare, who shared her expertise and experience with the participants. The main objective of the programme was to enhance creativity and practical skills among women and to encourage them to take up self-employment in the beauty and hair styling sector. The initiative aimed at helping young women achieve economic independence and build sustainable livelihoods. The training programme was organised as part of DDUCC and NEHU’s ongoing efforts to promote vocational education and skill development in line with the NEP 2020.
