SHILLONG: The Forest and Environment department is yet to take over the administrative control of the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) from the PHE department.

“The matter is taking some time since Government has to create an additional post in the PHE to absorb the two officials of the department who are currently on deputation with the MSPCB,” Forest and Environment Minister Prestone Tynsong informed here on Tuesday.

Tynsong informed that the post of chairman in the board is being headed by an officer of the PHE in the rank of Additional Chief Engineer while an officer in the rank of Executive Engineer is the member-secretary.

The Forest and Environment Minister also informed that Government was still working out the modalities to pave way for a new dispensation to head the board who will be an officer not below the rank of Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF).
