Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the CSP, State Bank of India will take place at Lad Mawreng Upper Shillong at 10 am and another one at 7th mile at 2 pm will be held on May 22.

Inauguration

The women’s hostel of Tirot Singh Memorial College, Mairang was inaugurated by SDO Mairang circle Arun Kumar Kembhavi in the presence of teachers, staffs and students of the college. The hostel was funded under the UGC scheme.

The Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, East Khasi Hills has informed that the new Rural Tourism Projects undertaken by the Mawlongbna Multipurpose Cooperative Societies Ltd. will be inaugurated on May 27 at 11 am at Mawlongbna village under Mawsynram C&RD Block.

Seminar

The Meghalaya Medical Services Association in collaboration with Dispur Hospitals, Guwahati will organize a medical seminar on May 24 at hotel Pinewood from 4 pm to 7 pm as a part of its CME programme.

The department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, North-Eastern Hill University will be organising a two day National Seminar on “Metabolomics-A New Frontier in Natural Products Research” from May 23-24.

Blood drive

The World Mission Society Church Of God carried out the 313th World Wide Blood Drive to ‘give life through the love of the passover’ on May 21 at NEIGRIHMS and over 100 people participated in this blood drive and the Deputy Director of Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Dr. E. Lyngdoh was also present in the event.

Eye camp

Shillong Agarwal Samiti had conducted a day long Free Eye Camp sponsored by Bawri Netralaya, Shillong under the observation of Dr Sailesh Kumar on May 20 at All Saints where 542 patients were benefited. Free medicines and spectacles were also distributed to the patients.
